Welcome to Simply Spiritual. 

The purpose of this site is to share with you my spirituality in keeping with Jesus Christ’s command:

“Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.”  Mark 16:15

I want everyone to learn and understand what Jesus Christ taught.  He taught the Good News of the coming Kingdom and he also taught that we must love one another. 

I am not a religious person.  I am deeply spiritual and yes, there is a difference.

A person can be religious without absolutely no spirituality.  The Scribes and Phaprisees were very religious.  They knew the scriptures like the back of their hands and kept the commandments ‘religiously’.

This is what Jesus told them:

“You hypocrites! Isaiah was prophesying about you when he said: ‘ These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far away.

Their worship  is a farce, for they replace God’s commands with their own man made teacings.”  Matthew 15:7-9

Basically a religious person is someone who pays only lip service, but have no spirituality.

A spiritual person on the other hand is someone who does what Jesus taught.  Someone who knows and shows compassion, mercy, generosity and love.

If you read Matthew chapter 23, you will see what Jesus thought of the Scribes and Pharisees and you would recognize that there exist today modern Scribes and Pharisees, just called by a different name.

Jesus did not come to teach religion, he came to save the world from it.  He also came that all may have life and have it more abundantly.  Most importantly, He came to give the good news (gospel) of the Kingdom of God.

I hope together we can teach each other to live a more abundant and spiritual life.
